Getting started

How do I carry a conversation?
  1. Open your Google AI conversation: use AI Mode, or expand an AI Overview. Scroll up to load earlier turns.
  2. Hover over the top tab to reveal your assistants, then click one. Selected text takes priority over the whole conversation.
  3. Sign in to the destination if needed. AiGo Relay inserts the context and sends it.
I can’t see the bar

Refresh the page after installing AiGo Relay, or choose “Show floating bar” in its popup.

On another Google country domain or any other HTTPS page, select your text and use the popup or right-click menu.

Is there a keyboard shortcut?

Alt + Shift + Y carries the conversation to your first visible assistant. To change it, choose Edit shortcut under Getting started in AiGo Relay’s settings.

Which assistants can I continue in?

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot, Perplexity, Meta AI and Qwen. Fresh installs show ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini; turn on the others in settings and drag them into order.

You can also add a custom HTTPS assistant: give it a name and a new-chat address, and grant access to that website only.

Can I start from somewhere other than Google?

Yes. AiGo Relay works from Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and every supported assistant, so you can carry a conversation from one assistant to another.

What carries over

What travels to the new assistant?

The loaded text of the conversation, or only the text you selected, plus cited source links while “Include cited sources” is on.

Files, images, hidden reasoning, a model’s memory, account history and messages not yet loaded on the page don’t transfer. Scroll up to load earlier messages first.

Can I check the text before it’s sent?

Yes. Turn on “Review before carrying” to open an editable preview before each transfer, where you can trim the context and add your next question. Unfamiliar page layouts always get a review.

Turn off “Send context automatically” to insert a draft without sending it.

The handoff didn’t finish

Use the recovery card AiGo Relay shows: it offers retry, copy and the text to paste by hand. Sign-in, subscriptions, usage limits and changes to a provider’s website can stop a handoff part way.

A draft already in the destination is kept, and a handoff that may have been sent is never sent again automatically. Saved handoff context is kept for up to 30 minutes; clear it in settings under Waiting handoffs.

Claude flagged my draft for safety review

AiGo Relay pauses automatic sending while Claude shows a safety warning. Review the draft, then use Claude’s own Send button if you want to continue.

Who receives the conversation?

The assistant you choose. It receives the text in its message editor and may see a draft before it is sent; its own terms and privacy policy apply. See the privacy policy for how AiGo Relay handles conversation context.

A custom assistant’s message box won’t fill

Enter a CSS selector for the site’s message box, or leave the composer selector blank to try the visible message boxes. If the editor still can’t be filled, AiGo Relay offers copy and manual paste. Editors inside iframes or closed shadow roots always need a manual paste.

Settings

Which bar styles are there?

Two. The default is an opaque dropdown at the top of the page, revealed when you hover over its AiGo edge. The other is a floating bar beside the latest message, which becomes solid as your pointer approaches and hides while you read earlier messages.

The bar follows the page’s colours and live theme changes, or you can choose system, light or dark. A thin rainbow border is on by default and stays still with reduced motion.

How do I move the bar?

Drag the top tab or the dotted handle left or right, or focus the handle and use the arrow keys. The top dropdown keeps one position across every website. The floating bar keeps a position for each website by default, or one shared position.

Reset all positions in settings, or reset the current website from the bar’s menu.

New tab or current tab?

Choose either under Open handoffs in. A new tab keeps the original chat open; in the current tab, Back returns to the original page.

Can I move my settings to another browser?

Yes. Export preferences under Getting started in settings, then import them in the other browser. Preferences never contain conversations, and imported custom assistants need their website access granted again.

Browsers and installing

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome (Chrome Web Store), Microsoft Edge (Microsoft Edge Add-ons) and Firefox 142 or later (Firefox Add-ons), on the desktop. Brave and Vivaldi use the Chrome Web Store version.

Opera’s listing is awaiting moderation; until then, install it by hand. The Mac Safari version is awaiting Apple’s review. Other browsers are untested. There is no mobile version.

Using Google AI in Opera

Turn on “Allow access to search page results” for AiGo Relay in Opera’s Extensions page, then refresh your Google AI conversation. Opera needs this extra permission before the bar can appear on Google.

Can I install it without a store?

Yes, for Chrome, Edge, Opera and other Chromium browsers, by loading the downloaded folder in developer mode. Firefox can load a download only temporarily. See manual installation.

Manual installs don’t update automatically: install each new download yourself, or switch to a store version.

Which version is current?

Version 1.6.7. Store versions update automatically once each store approves a release.
